In April of 2022, the Fire District Board authorized the purchase of a new Type 1 Fire Engine. The purchase was made through a cooperative purchase agreement, allowing the District to take advantage of the best price with the vendor, Golden State Fire Apparatus. The new engine is currently in production at Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton, WI, and is expected to be delivered to the District at the end of 2022. Once the District receives the engine, it will take a month to mount equipment and train the crews in its operation. The purchase of this vehicle was possible with the passage of the District 2020 special tax. This tax was approved by the voters in November 2020 and has a 10-year term.
