The Arcata Fire District is currently accepting applications for the position of:

Engineer

ANTICIPATED INTERVIEW MID-AUGUST  2024

THE POSITION:

Under general supervision by a Company Officer, the Fire Engineer drives assigned fire apparatuses and other automotive equipment to scenes of emergencies, operates fire pumps, performs inspection, preventative maintenance and minor repairs of Fire Department apparatus and equipment. The position assists in controlling and extinguishing fires, rescues persons endangered by accident or fire, responds to and provides assistance for medical aid calls, vehicle accidents and hazmat incidents. The Fire Engineer also performs public education events, assists in training exercises, and may participate in extended period out of county strike team assignments and/or extended station coverage during such assignments.
