Ed is a Humboldt County native with 28+ years in the Fire Service. He has served 20 years in Fire Suppression and 8+ years in Fire Prevention. He retired in 2018 from full-time service as Fire Marshal for another local Fire Agency. Ed currently serves part-time as the Fire Marshal for Arcata Fire.
During his career, Ed attended numerous National and State level training conferences and classes. He is a Certified Hazardous Materials Specialist, Fire Investigator and Fire Officer. He is also a past President for Humboldt County Prevention Officers and Humboldt County Arson Task Force and currently serves on the Underwriter’s Laboratory Standards Development Committee.
